Step 1: Unbox and Verify Your Device

Inside your Ledger package, you’ll find:

• One Ledger hardware wallet (Nano X or Nano S Plus)
• USB cable
• Recovery sheets
• Instruction manual

Before plugging in your device, make sure:

• The box is sealed and untampered
• The device screen turns on properly
• You purchase directly from ledger.com or an authorized reseller

Security Tip: Ledger will never ask for your recovery phrase. If anyone does, it’s a scam.

Step 2: Download Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the all-in-one companion app that allows you to manage your crypto securely.

• Go to ledger.com/start
• Download Ledger Live for your OS (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android)
• Install and open the app

Ledger Live helps you:

• Set up and update your device
• Manage over 5,000 digital assets
• Buy, sell, and swap crypto
• Track your portfolio in real-time

Step 3: Set Up Your Ledger Device

Once Ledger Live is installed, connect your device using the USB cable and follow the instructions:

1. Choose “Set up as a new device”
2. Create a PIN code: This is your first layer of security.
3. Write down your Recovery Phrase: Your 24-word recovery phrase is your backup. If you lose your device, this phrase allows you to restore your assets.

⚠️ Important:

• Write it down on the recovery sheet provided.
• Store it in a secure place, never digitally.
• Never share it with anyone. Ledger employees will never ask for it.

Step 4: Install Apps & Add Accounts

From Ledger Live:

• Go to “My Ledger” to install apps for the coins you want to manage (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum)
• Then, navigate to “Accounts” to add each crypto asset
• Start sending, receiving, and viewing transactions directly through the app

With Ledger, your private keys never leave your device, keeping your assets safe from online threats.

Step 5: Explore and Grow

Once your wallet is set up:

• Explore staking, NFTs, and DeFi securely through Ledger Live
• Browse the Discover section for partner apps
• Learn more through Ledger Academy for tutorials and insights
